EMERGENCY FLIGHTS RESUME OPERATIONS AT TIRANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

After a nearly 30 hours crisis, the situation at Tirana International Airport has been resolved with the arrival of a COVID-19 vaccine supply, namely 100.000 jabs from Sinovac. The Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku announced that flights will begin to operate today at 9:00 AM. The minister also said that after Albcontrol’s strike, which blocked all flights landing and departing from TIA, the Albanian air space is heading to its normal activities. All airport services will be available, while TIA is currently working with Turkish and Greek air traffic controllers. Yesterday, all passengers holding a ticket to Dubai were rerouted by bus to take off from Podgorica.
